NXP to Raise Prices ~10% on Select Parts from September 28 — MCU Buyers Face a 20-Day Window

NXP plans ~10% price rise on select parts from Sept 28, 2026 (channel notice; to be confirmed). LPC1xxx EOL and RF power LTB deadlines near — lock pricing and place LTB orders this month.

Introduction

A customer notice dated September 2, 2026, is circulating in the channel: NXP Semiconductors will raise prices by approximately 10% on select products effective September 28, 2026 (levels vary by product), citing continued cost pressure across raw materials, manufacturing, energy, labor, and logistics. NXP has not yet made an official announcement — verify affected part numbers and levels with your NXP representative (pending confirmation).

Bottom line: NXP is the latest tier-one supplier to follow ST, ADI, and TI into another round of pricing this quarter. If your BOM carries NXP MCUs, processors, or RF parts, September 28 is your lock-in deadline — and with LPC1xxx end-of-life plus RF power last-time-buy windows closing, buyers should handle "price lock" and "end-of-life stock" in the same month.

1. What this notice tells buyers

·  Price increases are now a standing tool. NXP already executed a cost-driven adjustment on part of its portfolio effective April 1, 2026, and management stated on the Q2 earnings call that it adjusts pricing "every quarter." Expect periodic reviews, not one-off events.

·  The timing fits the industry rhythm. ST's third round landed August 23 (automotive MCUs +15–20%), ADI's second round takes effect September 13 (up to 30% on some parts), and TI's third-round notice surfaced September 1. NXP's September 28 effective date closes out the wave — mature-node cost inflation and AI-driven capacity allocation are still propagating.

·  Scope to watch. The letter covers "select products in part of the portfolio" without publishing a list. Automotive MCUs (e.g., S32K), industrial and IoT MCUs (LPC/MCX families), plus RF and interface parts are typically first in line — request the detailed part list from your distributor.

2. More urgent: end-of-life deadlines this month

Part family

Event

Last order date

LPC1xxx (LPC1114/1115/1347/1549)

End-of-life (EOL)

2027-03-31

RF power (A2I/A3T/AFIC/AFM/MRF series)

Last-time-buy (LTB)

2026-09-30 (this month)

LPC1xxx parts are widely used in industrial sensors, smart meters, building automation, and appliances; the RF power portfolio serves base stations and industrial RF systems. Miss the LTB date and you are left with spot-market premiums or a costly redesign and re-qualification.

3. Buyer action list (complete this month)

 1. Get the lists. Ask your NXP distributor for the September 28 price-change part list with levels, plus LTB confirmation for RF power parts. Re-baseline BOM costs and share with sales and finance.

 2. Lock pricing now. For NXP parts in active production, secure purchase orders at current prices before September 28, including rolling supply windows — check the pricing date clause on credit-term orders.

 3. Close out EOL stock. Place RF power LTB orders before September 30. For LPC1xxx, either lock 2–3 years of demand in one LTB or start migration planning to LPC55Sxx (requires re-qualification — the earlier the better).

 4. Qualify a second source. For high-volume MCU/processor lines, evaluate alternative parts and second sources to reduce single-vendor exposure.

4. How HallChip can help

We are an independent distributor covering 14 global brands — TI, ADI, ST, Infineon, onsemi, NXP, ROHM, Diodes, Allegro, Melexis, AKM, Honeywell, SEIKO NPC, and TDK-Micronas — for both spot and contract supply:

· Price lock & LTB support: batch RFQs and old-price purchase orders before September 28; multi-year LTB coverage inside the September 30 RF power window;

· Spot & alternative parts: sourcing for NXP MCUs/processors and RF parts, plus replacement evaluation for discontinued lines;

· Lead-time planning: rolling forecasts aligned with factory allocation to minimize the combined impact of price and EOL risk.
